Clemmons, NC - The Winston-Salem State University men's cross country team, under the tutelage of first-year head coach Benny Morgan, finished second to Greensboro College in the Division II flight at the Southern Cross Country Invitational at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC on Friday afternoon.
The Rams, hosting their first multi-team cross country event in over five seasons, turned in a very impressive performance on Friday afternoon as they would fall to only Greensboro College.
Greensboro College would place first in the meet with a team-low 26 points, only four points ahead of the host-team Rams. Elon University would record only 21 points while the College of Charleston would round out the Division I portion of the event with 34 points. Bluefield State recorded 85 points and Louisburg College recorded no score.
The Rams have continued to make strides this season under Coach Morgan, and will return to action on October 1st, 2005 at the Hagen Stone Classic in Greensboro, NC.
