Rams Run Past Golden Bulls In CIAA Cross-Country Action

Oct. 18, 2004

Salisbury, NC - The Winston-Salem State University men's cross-country team captured two of the top three finishers on Saturday afternoon in Salisbury, NC and earned a CIAA league victory in the process as Darrell Wonge (Fr./Lakeview, NY) and Adrian Harrison (So./Greensboro, NC) finished first and third respectively and paced the Rams to a victory.

Wonge, a freshman from Lakeview, NY turned in the best time of the afternoon as he completed the five-mile course in 38:10, a full five seconds faster than his next closest competitor, Robert Madison.

He was not the only Ram to turn in an impressive performance on Saturday as Adrian Harrison crossed the finish line only one minute and five seconds later to capture the third-place finish.

The remainder of the Rams finished fifth, seventh and eighth to round out the afternoon's victory.

WSSU returns to action on October 25th, 2004 when they travel to Cary, NC to compete in the CIAA cross-country championships.
