Newcomers, Top Returnees Highlight Great 2009 WSSU Effort

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The 2009 season was a great one for the Winston-Salem State University cross country teams as an influx of new talent and a great cast of returnees combined to make the season one of the best in school history. As a team, the Rams had one of their greatest efforts in school history with three top three team finishes and finishing just outside of the top 10 at the 2009 Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic. The effort marked one of the team's best in school history. Story.

Chebii Wins 14th Annual Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL - Winston-Salem State freshman Andrew Chebii capped a spectacular season with his third win of the season, finishing in first place at the 14th Annual Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic, Saturday morning. With a 25:22.40 in the men's 8K run, Chebii left runners from Kennesaw State, Florida Atlantic, and Miami all in his wake as he won the event by a full thirty seconds. Story.

 
Strickland finished the 8K event in 31:20.

Rams Compete in Inaugural HBCU Challenge at Great American XC Festival

CARY, NC - The Winston-Salem State Rams and Lady Rams cross country teams returned to action against the top Historically Black Colleges & Universities when the teams took part in the inaugural HBCU Challenge at the Great American Cross Country Invitational, Saturday morning. The Rams and Lady Rams posted some solid efforts in the event after a great effort at the AT&T Contest of Champions on Friday. Story.
