    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (18-10) gave all the effort they had in a heartbreaking 75-70 loss to the Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls (21-5), Wednesday evening. The loss came after a heroic effort by the Lady Rams who fought for all 40 minutes of the contest and left it all out on the floor in the hard-fought loss.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (17-9, 12-4 CIAA, 6-4 CIAA South) will put their successful 2011-12 season behind them when the team opens play at the 2012 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. After posting a 17-9 record in the regular season, the Lady Rams will look to carry their success into the post-season as they take on the sixth-seeded Lincoln (Pa.) Lady Lions (7-21, 3-13 CIAA, 3-7 CIAA North) in a 5:00 p.m. game, Tuesday in the opening round of the tournament.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (18-9) opened the 2012 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in a big way with a dominating 79-57 win over the Lincoln (Pa.) Lady Lions (7-22), Tuesday evening. The Lady Rams took the win behind an inspired performance that saw the team clicking on all cylinders in the win.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (17-9, 12-4 CIAA) closed out home court on a high note with an 80-55 win over the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos (), Saturday evening. With the win, the Lady Rams closed out home court for the 2011-12 season with their ninth home win of the season.

    RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (16-9, 11-4 CIAA, 5-4 CIAA South) could not find any answers when the team took an 83-57 loss at Shaw, Monday evening. The Lady Rams found themselves struggling at both ends of the court as the team shot just 25% from the floor while allowing the Lady Bears to shoot 44.1% in the game.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (16-8, 11-3 CIAA) gave it their all, but the team could not get past a tough Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls (18-5, 12-2 CIAA) team in at 78-63 home loss, Saturday evening. The loss put a damper on the Lady Rams’ bid for the 2011-12 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division championship, but it did not come from a lack of effort by the squad.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (16-7, 11-2 CIAA) put on a dominating effort to pick up a 99-69 win over the Livingstone Lady Blue Bears (7-18, 2-11 CIAA), Monday evening. The Lady Rams turned up their defensive efforts to key the big Monday evening win.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-6, 10-1 CIAA) will take on the Shaw Lady Bears (15-6, 10-1 CIAA) in one of the biggest games of the season for both teams. In addition to being a showdown between two of the three teams tied atop the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division, the game will also be the Lady Rams’ “Play for Kay” game, which will feature a number of events and activities in an effort to raise breast cancer awareness. Fans and supporters are encouraged to come out and wear pink in support of raising awareness of breast cancer.
  • Lady Rams Take Hard-Fought 75-68 Loss to Shaw

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-7, 10-2 CIAA) gave it their all, but the effort was not enough as the team took a 75-68 loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (16-6, 11-1 CIAA), Saturday evening. The loss put a temporary halt to the Lady Rams’ bid for the top spot in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division and gave WSSU its first home loss of the season.
  • Lady Rams Hold Off Saint Augustine's for 75-63 Home Win

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-6, 10-1 CIAA) had to overcome an aggressive Saint Augustine’s Falcons (11-10, 6-5 CIAA) along with some shooting struggles en route to a 75-63 home win, Monday evening. The Lady Rams had to overcome a team season-high 29 turnovers and a determined Saint Augustine’s team that made a big second half run, to secure their second straight win.
  • Big Second Half Lifts Lady Rams Over Livingstone, 82-68

    SALISBURY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (14-6, 9-1 CIAA) took a hard-fought 82-68 win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (7-14, 2-7 CIAA), Saturday evening. After taking their first conference loss of the season earlier in the week, the Lady Rams bounced back with a win over the nearby Blue Bears. Though the win was a needed one, it did not come easily as the Lady Rams had to fend off an aggressive and talented Livingstone team.
  • Lady Rams Take a Tough 70-61 Loss at Johnson C. Smith

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (13-6, 8-1 CIAA) gave it their all, but the team fell short in a hard-fought 70-61 road loss to the Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls (15-3, 9-0 CIAA). After controlling much of the game, the Lady Rams fell victim to a late surge by the Lady Golden Bulls that ended the Lady Rams’ 10-game winning streak, the second-longest winning streak in school history.

    FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (12-5, 7-0 CIAA) scored their ninth straight win, Saturday when the team took a 74-56 win over the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos (7-8, 1-5 CIAA) at Felton J. Capel Arena in Fayetteville, N.C. The Lady Rams took the win behind the stellar shooting efforts of sophomore guard Taylar Wells who led all scorers with 20 points in the win.

There was no stopping the Lady Rams as the team shot a scorching hot 59% from the field in the game while holding the Lady Lions to shooting 20% from the field.

    ELIZABETH CITY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (10-5, 5-0 CIAA) took home a dramatic 60-56 win at Elizabeth City State (8-6, 2-2 CIAA), Saturday. In a game that turned out to be a real battle of wills, the Lady Rams were able to turn up their defensive efforts to take their seventh straight win.

    MURFREESBORO, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (9-5, 4-0 CIAA) used a dominant second half effort to record their sixth straight win, defeating the Chowan Lady Hawks (6-7, 1-2 CIAA), 72-47, Thursday evening. After battling through some early struggles, the Lady Rams took control of the game just before halftime and never looked back to extend their winning streak to six games, the most by the team since 2004.
