    BOWIE, MD – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-6, 1-1 CIAA) played well for most of the game, but a critical third quarter drought cost the team in a 76-63 loss at Bowie State (8-1, 1-0 CIAA). After a strong first half of play, the Rams struggled in the second half to take their first Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) loss of the season.

    LINCOLN, PA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-5, 1-0 CIAA) opened Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play on a high note when the team took an 80-72 road win over the Lincoln (Pa.) Lady Lions (4-7, 0-2 CIAA), Saturday afternoon. The Rams took the win behind a balanced offensive attack with four players reaching double-digit scoring in the game.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (2-5) used a physical defensive effort to claim a 74-62 win over the Bluefield State Big Blues (3-5), Saturday afternoon. The Rams put on one of their best defensive performances of the season as the team held the Big Blues to shooting just 34.0% (16-of-47) from the floor.
  • Rams' Comeback Falls Short in 73-62 Loss to Benedict at Red & White Classic

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-5) staged a big second half rally, but the team fell short in a 73-62 loss to the Benedict Tigers (8-1) on the opening day of the 3rd Annual Red & White Classic. After struggling early in the game, the Rams bounced back for a solid second half, but it wasn’t enough in the tough loss.
  • Rams Stifled in 86-59 Loss at Lenoir-Rhyne

    HICKORY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (1-5) struggled to get points on the scoreboard when the team took an 86-59 road loss to the Lenoir-Rhyne (3-3) Bears, Sunday afternoon. The Rams were aggressive all game long and played some solid defense, but the team could not quite get in sync on offense when they took the hard-fought loss.

    GREENSBORO, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (0-3) gave their local rivals quite a scare, but the team fell just short in a 60-56 loss to the North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies (1-2), Friday evening. The Rams utilized a big second half effort to nearly pull off the win over their NCAA Division I foes in front of an energetic crowd of over 2,500 at the Corbett Sports Center.

With a wealth of new talent and strong cast of returnees, the Rams will look to finish ahead of their preseason rankings in the upcoming season.

  • 103-year-old alumna gets surprise visit from women’s basketball team

    HENDERSON, NC - Henrietta Cross Hatton Clark has seen a lot since graduating from Winston-Salem Teachers College in 1938. The retired teacher, who will turn 104 in September, says she owes everything to TC, now Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). As a student, she played basketball on the women's team. As an alumna, she founded the alumni association chapter in her hometown of Henderson.
