2007-08: Quintoya Mobley had a solid freshman season, giving the team some needed depth for much of the season and earning a place in the starting lineup near the season's end...She made her collegiate debut with 12 minutes at Virginia Tech with two points and three rebounds in the loss...She played 23 minutes against Radford with four points and a career-high eight rebounds against the Highlanders...Earned the first start of her career when she played 24 minutes against the Auburn Tigers in the opening round of the Klosterman Buckeye Classic hosted by Ohio State University...She scored two points with one rebound in the loss...She came off the bench against the Colgate Raiders on day two of the tournament...She was held scoreless, but pulled in rebounds in the loss...She bounced back from the effort, playing 20 minutes against South Carolina State and scoring four points with four rebounds in the loss...She had a breakout game at USC-Aiken, scoring a career-high eight points with two rebounds in 23 minutes of play against the Pacers in her second collegiate start...She ran into a scoring slump, going scoreless in her next four outings, but combined for seven rebounds during the slump...She was able to score against the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore Lady Hawks...She played 18 minutes against Delaware State with no points and four rebounds in the loss...She scored three points in the team's first win of the season, playing 10 minutes against the Howard Lady Bison...She kick-started her offensive play against the Hampton Lady Pirates when she played 19 minutes and scored seven points with five rebounds... She returned to the starting lineup when the team took on the rival North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies... She finished the afternoon scoreless with four rebounds and a steal...She saw limited time against the Norfolk State Lady Spartans with just nine minutes in the loss...She was held scoreless, but added a pair of rebounds...She came off the bench for five points and a pair of rebounds against Florida A&M...She was limited to just 15 minutes against Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats...She recorded one steal in the win...Quintoya broke out for another great game at Morgan State where she scored seven points and four rebounds with a career-high three assists against the Lady Bears...She was held scoreless with one rebound and one assist in 20 minutes at Coppin State...She was saddled by foul troubles when the team struggled to a loss to the Longwood Lancers in their "Think Pink" game...She finished the day with one rebound in the loss...She scored just two points, but had six rebounds in 11 minutes of play at Howard...She returned to the starting lineup at Hampton and responded with 36 quality minutes for the Lady Rams...She was scoreless in the game, but had a great defensive effort with two rebounds and an assist in the game...Was held scoreless at home against the North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies, but added a steal and a rebound in the loss...She had another 36-minute effort against the Norfolk State Lady Spartans, finishing the game with two points and tying a career-high with six rebounds...She started games against Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman, but was held to just one point during the weekend...She was scoreless at Florida A&M laboring with an injury...She finished the season with a strong effort at South Carolina State that saw her score one point, but she pulled in five rebounds and added a pair of assists in the win.
Personal: Toya will join the Lady Rams for her second season this fall and look to give the team a much need push on offense and on defense...A native of York, SC and a graduate of York High School...Earned numerous honors as a high school player...Led the Cougars to a 14-6 record during her senior season...Was named Region Player of the Year and team Best All-Around Player ...She has also earned numerous academic honors including being named to the German National Honor Society and was an Honor Graduate...Also earned a Diploma with Distinction...The daughter of James Weeks and Iris Mobley.
