"Before tip I told the seniors they were going to have to carry us through the game.  Win or lose they were going to have to carry us through. We got the victory, now we move to the next game."

Coach, what was the last call of the game about?

Coach Doug Robertson

"The ball hit the bottom of the rim.  You had to pay close attention. I commend the officials on doing a good job, and correcting the call, making it right."

The first game back in CIAA how does it feel to get the first win out of the way?

"Feels good, I celebrated the last two minutes after it, and am not ready to move on to the next game."

General Comments Concerning the Game

"First of all I would like to say that it has been good four years at Winston Salem State University, and we just couldn't hit any shots. I thought we could win the game at the last second by hitting the shots and I feel we lost by not hitting free throws"

Describe what happened in the last exchanges at the end of the game?

"I knew that the ball hit the rim and I knew the shot clock was over and the ball just fell short and we lost. "

Could you girls speak on this loss?

"I am not happy. This is the second year in a row that it has come down to the last shot. Last year against Elizabeth City State University I missed the lay-up and this year I fell short again I guess it just was not meant to be. "

"It feels just like last year and I cannot put my emotions into words."
