WINSTON SALEM STATE UNIVERSITY QUOTES
General Questions Concerning the Game

John Williams
First of all, I want to thank God. Our girls just refused to lose. We pretty much kept the lead and didn't let up, and made all free throws when it counted. We hung in there and stuck together.

Q: Was this a good match up game

A: It's always been close, they do create a match-up problem for us but we made some adjustments and hung in there

Q: What were some half time comments made in the locker room?

A: Early in the game we missed easy shots towards the end w e made them when they really counted.

Q: With the two losses to Fayetteville State University, how is getting over the hump going to take you into the tourney?

A: We knew that we would have a opportunity to play them again. We took care of business last night to be able to play them tonight.

Q: To all the players: Does it mean anything more to beat Fayetteville State University?

A: Kadina Baldwin: It means a lot more to beat your hometown team it comes from the heart. It was a big game

A: Shalonda Carter: it means a whole lot tonight I am speechless, I give credit to FSU program and coach tucker, I just know third time would not be a charm for them and payback is all I can say

FAYETTEVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY
GENERAL COMMENTS CONCERNING THE GAME

First of all, congratulations to Winston-Salem State University on there victory over us in the game tonight. We know it would be hard to beat the team 3 times. And it just kind of hard to beat them three times in a row. We could not get going down tonight. We concentrated on containing Shalonda Carter, which we did, but let others get by. We could not get into a rhythm and get going. Sometimes you just can't get in the rhythm and do what you need to do on the floor.

Q: Coach, are they just a bad match-up for you?

A: I think that we just didn't maintain. We knew some of the players who were threats. I feel that the weak link was out guards. Match-up wise, no it was a good game

Q: Do you think having a 1st round bye, had a factor in your playing?

A: I don't like bye's. They usually mean BYE BYE. There is nothing like getting on the floor. It looked like they were in a rhythm and we were not. I think it affected my team.

Q: To the Players: Is it frustrating that you missed lay-ups and close shots?

A: MONICA MASON: Yes, we were shooting a low percentage and it messed up the rhythm

A: ANGELA PERRY: We always shoot low, but end up winning. We normally pick up steals and turnovers, lay-ups, well we either we make them or miss them.
