The Lady Rams started the contest well as a pair of jump shots from Renee Rector (Winston-Salem, NC) and Keoshia Worthy (Augusta, GA) gave WSSU an early 4-0 lead 2:08 into the contest.
The lead would be short-lived as the visiting Lady Bulldogs would immediately go on a 14-4 run to take a six-point lead at the 11:56 mark of the half as they shot out to a margin that they would never relinquish.
South Carolina State would increase that lead to a comfortable 21 points with 3:03 to play in the half as they used 21 first-half points in the paint to dominate the interior post en route to taking a 38-21 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Second half action would again belong to SCSU as the visiting Lady Bulldogs used a half-opening 14-5 run to increase their lead to 26 points only six minutes into the final period of play.
Despite aggressive defense the Lady Bulldogs continued to dominate the post as they pushed their lead to as many as a game-high 33 points with less than 10 minutes to play in the game.
The Lady Rams' cold-shooting continued to plague Winston-Salem State as South Carolina State held on to their lead en route to their second win of the 2007-08 season.
Leading the way for the Lady Bulldogs was Jenell Moore with 18 points as she led four SCSU players in double-figures.
The lone bright spots for the Lady Rams were a pair of 14-point performances from senior Keoshia Worthy and freshman Vontisha Woods.
