Lady Ram guard Latoya Armstrong's efforts in the classroom were rewarded, Friday afternoon when she earned a spot on the 2007 NCAA Division I Independent All-American team, Friday.  The senior from Rocky Mount, North Carolina was one of 32 players from across the country to earn the honor.

 

Armstrong was the first Lady Ram to ever earn the honor, courtesy of her stellar 3.281 GPA. One of the most durable, players on the team Armstrong maintained her GPA while playing in 81 games through her three seasons as a member of the Lady Rams' squad.

 

She is the daughter of Grady Armstrong and Gwendolyn Johnson and will finish her career with the Lady Rams on February 21st when the team plays Savannah State to wrap up the 2006-07 season.
