Hampton, VA - Winston-Salem State University head women's basketball coach John Williams was honored as the women's basketball Coach of the Week by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association on Sunday afternoon for his efforts in leading the Lady Rams to three wins over the past week.
Williams, in his third year as the head coach of WSSU's women's basketball team, has the Lady Rams off to their best start since the 2000-01 season as he has helped to guide WSSU to a five-game win streak, improving to 5-1 in the process. Williams and the Lady Rams had a very productive week as they earned non-conference victories over Wingate (54-44), Clark-Atlanta (65-64) and Paine College (74-62) during the last seven days and for his efforts he has been named the CIAA's Women's basketball Coach of the Week.
