FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (40-16, 40-16 CIAA) had another impressive effort on the second day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division Meet. The Lady Rams posted a 3-2 record with three conference wins on the day.
The Lady Rams opened the day with a clutch 690-648 win over Johnson C. Smith, but the team followed the effort with a close 832-821 loss to Saint Augustine's. The Lady Rams were able to put back-to-back wins together, defeating Shaw 775-747 and defeating Livingstone 875-576. The team closed the day on a down note, however, falling to host Fayetteville State, 854-792.
WSSU sophomore Janae McCaskey led the way for the team with 770 total pins on the day. She finished the event with 1,616 total pins in team match play. Forrest also posted the single match high for the day with a 191 against Fayetteville State.
