FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (2-3, 2-3 CIAA) opened the season with a solid start, posting a 2-3 record on the first day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division Meet. The day saw a roller coaster effort by the Lady Rams that followed each loss with a win for the entire day with the team taking wins over rivals Johnson C. Smith and Livingstone.
As a team, the Lady Rams totaled 3,700 total pins for the day with sophomore Kia Edgerton leading the way. For the day, she totaled 797 pins, averaging 159.4 pins for the day. The Lady Rams opened the day with a tough 1,016-758 loss to host Fayetteville State. The team bounced back for an 840-669 win over Johnson C. Smith. The team followed the effort with a close 682-676 loss to Shaw. The Lady Rams bounced back once again for a bit 706-607 win over Livingstone, but closed out the day with a thrilling 722-720 loss to Saint Augustine's.
