FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (9-5, 9-5 CIAA) finished their season-opening meet in style when the team posted a 4-1 record in Baker games play at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division meet hosted by Fayetteville State University. The Lady Rams topped every foe they faced except for the host Fayetteville State Lady Broncos.
The Lady Rams got their strong effort started early when the team opened the day with four straight wins. The team kicked things off with another clutch 641-631 win over Saint Augustine's. From there, the Lady Rams rolled with impressive wins in their next three matches, including a 578-461 win over Livingstone, a 751-492 win over Shaw, and a 653-497 win over Johnson C. Smith. The Lady Rams closed the day with their only loss, a 702-606 loss to the host Fayetteville State Lady Broncos.
With the effort, the Lady Rams finish the weekend with a 9-5 overall record and a 9-5 record in CIAA play. The Lady Rams finished the weekend with the second best record in the division and the most second most total pins.
