FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (5-4, 5-4 CIAA) had a great effort on the second day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division meet when the team posted a 3-1 effort at the meet.
As a team, the Lady Rams totaled 3,921 total pins with sophomore Kia Edgerton leading the way once again. For the day, she totaled 887 pins for the day, including a 201. The Lady Rams opened the day on a high note when they took a 790-692 win over Livingstone. The team followed the effort with an impressive 759-659 win over Johnson C. Smith. It was Edgerton's 201 that led WSSU to the win. From there, the Lady Rams avenged their loss to Saint Augustine's yesterday, when the Lady Rams rolled to an 841-734 win over the Falcons. The team went on for a 770-572 win over the short-handed Shaw. The Lady Rams took their sole loss of the day in the finale, when they fell to the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos, 893-761.
