PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (17-15, 13-6 CIAA) opened the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) North/South Divisional Meet with a 4-1 effort in team match play at the event, which was hosted by Virginia State University. The team gave one of its best efforts of the season when they finished the day with four wins against the CIAA Southern Division.
The Lady Rams opened the day with three straight wins. The team took a 901-692 win over Saint Augustine's. The effort was followed by a 785-693 win over Shaw and an 863-607 win over Livingstone. The Lady Rams took their sole loss of the day when they took on Fayetteville State and fell, 748-890. The team bounced back to close out the day with a 976-583 win over Johnson C. Smith.
With the effort, the Lady Rams improve to 17-15 overall and 13-6 in CIAA play. The Lady Rams will return to action, Saturday to take part in team match play once again.
