PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (20-17, 16-8 CIAA) had another solid day at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) North/South Meet when the team posted a 3-2 record against teams from the CIAA Southern Division. The Lady Rams took three strong wins, breaking 800 pins twice during the day.
The Lady Rams finished the day with three CIAA Southern Division wins to improve to 16-8 in conference play and remained in second place in the division. The Lady Rams opened the day with a 782-708 win over Shaw before taking back-to-back losses to Saint Augustine's (745-829) and division leader Fayetteville State (874-1,043). The team bounced back in a big way, however, with back-to-back wins over Johnson C. Smith (765-688) and Livingstone (800-604).
WSSU sophomore Kia Edgerton continued her great play over the weekend with 1,801 total pins for the weekend and a 180.1 average. Junior Raven Forrest also had a great day with a team-high 235 to lead the team to its win over Shaw.
