PETERSBURG, VA – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (24-18, 20-9 CIAA) closed out a great weekend at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) North/South Division Meet with a 4-1 record in Baker games play. With the effort, the Lady Rams remain in second place in the CIAA Southern Division and finished the event with an 11-4 record.
The Lady Rams opened the day with three straight Baker games wins. The team took an impressive 740-626 win over Saint Augustine's, followed by a clutch 616-569 win over Shaw, and an even closer 689-598 win over Livingstone. The team suffered its only loss of the day when they took a 685-619 loss to Fayetteville State. However, the Lady Rams closed the day on a high note with a 654-568 win over Johnson C. Smith.
With the effort, the Lady Rams improve to 24-18 overall and 20-9 in CIAA play. Only division leader Fayetteville State (28-0) has a better division record than the Lady Rams. The team will return to action on February 7th when the team heads to Charlotte, N.C. to take part in the CIAA Southern Division Meet hosted by Johnson C. Smith University.
