CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams () recorded a pair of wins on the opening day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) North/South Divisional Meet, Friday. The finished the day with a 2-3 overall record in team match play against competition from the CIAA Northern Division.
As a team, the Lady Rams totaled 4,814 pins on the opening day of the meet, including recording 826 in a bye match. The team opened the day with a tough 742-789 loss to Virginia Union. However, the team bounced back with an 834-595 win over the Chowan Hawks. After back-to-back losses to Virginia State and Elizabeth City State, the team closed the day on a high note with a 945-903 win over Bowie State.
WSSU junior Tia Edgerton led the way for the Lady Rams with a total of 901 pins on the day. She recorded a team-best 218 against Elizabeth City State. Senior Raven Forrest added a total of 832 on the day.
