Personal:Michael Jackson enters joined the Winston-Salem State coaching staff in the spring of 2007 where he took the reins as head coach of the WSSU Lady Rams Bowling team. An experienced bowler with a wealth of experience, Jackson will is a welcome addition to the WSSU staff.
Jackson has been bowling as an amateur for over 18 years, taking part in numerous tournament across the Southeast. He is presently a member of the United State Bowling Congress (USBC), an organization which NBA standout and Winston-Salem native Chris Paul recently joined. He is also a member of The National Bowling Association (TNBA), formerly known as the Negro Bowling Association. He is also the former chaplain of the Pure Pleasure Bowling Club. Coach Jackson was certified as a Team USA Bronze level coach in October of 2000. He has coached a number of youth programs in Georgia and North Carolina.
Individually, his honors include a pair of 300 games, two 299 games, and one 297 game. He has also earned a number of trophies and plaques.
A native of Macon, Georgia, Jackson and his wife, Valerie are the proud parents of three daughters (Diandra, Crystal, and Briana). Jackson has been employed by the RJ Reynolds Tobacco, Co. in Winston-Salem, NC for over 20 years.
