SUMTER, SC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (4-47) saw more than one breakout performance at the South Carolina State Bulldog Open, Saturday. The Lady Rams posted a pair of wins en route to a 2-3 record in team match play and watched freshman Miranda Day record one of the best individual efforts in school history.
In six matches, Day recorded 1,204 total pins, leading the way for the Lady Rams who had a great day with every WSSU bowler recording at least 800 pins for the day.
The Lady Rams got off to a slow start, falling to North Carolina Central, 840-682, but bounced back with an 876-851 win over Norfolk State. The team was edged out in an 838-818 loss to host South Carolina State, followed by an 804-776 loss to Bethune-Cookman, but the team closed the effort on a high note, defeating Norfolk State once again, 806-778.
