FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams had a great day in team match play on the second day of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division meet hosted by Fayetteville State University, Saturday. The Lady Rams posted a 3-2 record despite missing their top performer due to injury.
When challenged to compete without top performer Miranda Day, the Lady Rams bounced back for a 3-2 record behind the strong efforts of junior Jameka Johnson. She led the way for the Lady Rams with a team-high 829 pinfall total for the day.
The Lady Rams got the ball rolling early with an 828-693 win over Shaw. Though the team fell to Saint Augustine's (729-830), the Lady Rams bounced back for an 804-723 win over Johnson C. Smith. The rollercoaster went down for the Lady Rams as the team took a 758-896 loss to host Fayetteville State before ending the day on a high note with an 833-691 win over Livingstone.
