SMYRNA, TN - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams picked up a pair of Baker games wins on the opening day of the Columbia 300 Music City Classic, Friday. The Lady Rams finished the day with a 2-4 record with wins over Hampton and North Carolina A&T. Freshman Miranda Day continued her string of great performances with a 1,006 total pins for the day.
The Lady Rams got the day going on a high note with 774-718 win over the Hampton Lady Pirates, but the team fell short in losses to Kutztown (908-762), Florida A&M (842-747), New Jersey City (825-689), and Alabama A&M (841-741). The team did, however, close out the day with a 731-702 win over the rival North Carolina A&T Aggies.
WSSU freshman Miranda Day's 1,006 total pins paced the Lady Rams and 55th among over 130 bowlers at event. Senior Christina McDowell finished with the second highest pinfall total for the Lady Rams with 888 for the day.
