Raleigh, NC - The Lady Rams bowling team, who had posted a 28-2 record over CIAA Western Division opponents coming into the weekend, would continue their success as they faced the Eastern Division on Friday evening at AMF Capital Lanes in Raleigh, NC.
The Lady Rams, sitting high atop the CIAA's Western Division standings, would have to face several difficult opponents on Friday afternoon, and responded with a stellar performance, as Head Coach Leon Kay's bowlers kept knocking down both the pins and their opponents.
The Lady Rams would first defeat Virginia Union University on Friday as they won back to back matches by the scores of 766-560, and 825-615, to start Friday 2-0.
WSSU would next face Virginia State, faltering a bit in the first match as they lost 825-784, but bouncing back to win the second match 741-709 to improve to 3-1 on the day.
The Lady Rams would conclude the first day of competition as they defeated Shaw University 851-659 and then, due to fatigue, would fall in the second match 706-668.
The Lady Rams will take their 4-2 weekend record, and a 32-4 overall record into the second day of competition at AMF Capital Lanes on Saturday afternoon.
