WSSU Bowlers Post 3-2 Mark For Second Consecutive Day

Sept. 25, 2004

Charlotte, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams bowling team posted their second consecutive 3-2 record on Saturday afternoon after completing the second of three days of CIAA bowling competition at George Pappas Park Lanes in Charlotte, NC.

The Lady Rams started the day out looking to exact revenge on the Lady Broncos of Fayetteville State University after falling in defeat to close out Friday afternoon's bowling action. However, the Lady Broncos proved once again to be too much for WSSU to handle as the Lady Rams fell in defeat to Fayetteville State for the second consecutive day.

WSSU's shaky start would continue as they lost their next match of the day, this time at the hands of the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University. The Lady Rams, facing an 0-2 hole heading into the third match of the day used solid advice from head coach Leon Kay and mounted a charge that would put them back in the win column.

WSSU raged back and handed JCSU a loss in the second and final match between the two teams and then easily swept the Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College to close out the day's action with a 3-2 record.

With the 3-2 mark on Saturday, the Lady Rams improve to 6-4 overall in 2004 and will return to action on Sunday morning as they take to the lanes for Baker Match competition versus Livingstone College at 9:00 am.
