Kernersville, NC - The Winston-Salem State University women's bowling team followed up Friday's 3-2 record with an impressive 4-1 mark on Saturday in the second day of three days of CIAA bowling competition at the Western Division Bowling Challenge at Countryside Lanes in Kernersville, NC.
The Lady Rams opened the days' action with a 798-670 win over the Lady Falcons of St. Augustine' College as Lashonda Horton bowled a high game of 225 as she led WSSU in pinfall for the fourth time in six matches.
WSSU then squared off against the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University for a pair of matches. The two teams, bitter rivals in the very competitive Western Division of the CIAA would split the matches with NCCU winning the first match 766-713 and the Lady Rams using a high-game of 195 posted by RaDonna Kirby in match two to post a 792-755 victory.
The final two matches of the afternoon would go in favor of the Lady Rams as WSSU easily defeated the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University by the scores of 789-775 and 792-652.
At the conclusion of the afternoon the Lady Rams would sit firmly in the driver's seat with an overall record of 7-3.
WSSU will return to action on Sunday morning at 9:00 am as they will begin play with Baker Match format contests.
