Lady Ram Bowlers Post 4-2 Record On First Day At AMF Capital Lanes

Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' bowling team posted an impressive 4-2 record on the first day of intra-league bowling at AMF Capital Lanes in Raleigh, NC as they swept the Lady Trojans of Virginia State and the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University on Friday afternoon.

The Lady Rams opened the day with a win over the Lady Trojans of Virginia State by the score of 794-680 as Nanisha Arter led the Lady Rams with a 200 game. The second match was almost a mirror image of the first as WSSU cruised to the win 810-744 as LeAndrea Suggs rolled her way to a 214.

After jumping out to a 2-0 record, the Lady Rams stumbled versus the Shaw University Lady Bears with back-to-back losses by the scores of 796-862 and 777-859. Lashonda Horton rolled a 191 in the first match and LeAndrea Suggs led the Lady Rams with 173 in the second match of two.

WSSU rebounded nicely in their final two matches of the day as WSSU defeated Virginia Union by the scores of 717-481 and 633-526. Despite the lower scores, the Lady Rams earned a pair of victories over the Lady Panthers to post a 4-2 record on the first day.

WSSU will return to action on Saturday morning at 10:00 am as they will face off against Elizabeth City State, Bowie State and St. Paul's.
