WSSU Closes Out Final Day Of Bowling Competition Posting A 15-3 Record

Raleigh, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' bowling team closed out the final day of competition of the 2004 CIAA bowling round-up by posting a 15-3 record in the Baker Match portion of the event at AMF Capital Lanes in Raleigh, NC as they swept Bowie State University, Virginia State University and Virginia Union University.

WSSU opened the morning's action with a 3-0 sweep over the Lady Bulldogs of Bowie State University as they were never challenged by their opposition and recorded three straight wins by the scores of 194-168, 156-128 and 197-159.

The Lady Rams continued to show why they are one of the favorites to win the CIAA's Western Division as they continued to show their skill in the second match of the morning as they rolled their way to a 2-1 versus the Lady Tigers of St. Paul's College by the scores of 220-86, 139-97 and lost the final game of the match by the score of 165-186.

WSSUs second sweep of the afternoon would come only one match later as the Lady Rams rolled to a 3-0 record over Virginia State University by the score of 195-131, 172-158, and 161-158.

Winston-Salem State would go on to post consecutive 2-1 records as they defeated Elizabeth City State (171-191, 161-145, 161-158) and Shaw University (165-176, 182-161, 181-147) to move to 12-3 on the afternoon.

The final match of the day saw WSSU finish strong as they easily defeated the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University by the scores of 159-91, 183-83 and 211-122 to close out the final day at 15-3.
