Lady Rams Finish CIAA Round Up With 8-10 Record Overall; Earn Seventh Place

Oct. 28, 2005

Raleigh, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams rolled their way to a three-day record of 8-10 overall at the CIAA Women's Bowling Round-Up this past weekend, good enough to earn them a seventh place victory in the ultra-competitive CIAA women's bowling league.

The Lady Rams completed the first day of competition on Friday with a 3-3 overall record in head-to-head bowling competition.  They dropped a pair of matches to Bowie State and rebounded nicely to take a split of the six matches on the afternoon.

Saturday's second day of competition was much the same as the first as the Lady Rams again split their six matches on the day en route to their second consecutive 3-3 day.

Sunday's Baker Matches were not as kind to the Lady Rams as WSSU defeated Virginia Union 468-370, and handed ECSU a loss 518-495 before falling four consecutive matches to post a 2-4 record.

The Lady Rams fell to Saint Paul's College 485-443, Virginia State 505-485, Shaw 540-516 and Bowie State 610-449 in Sunday's final four Baker matches.

WSSU finished the three-day event with 18 total match points and a seventh place finish.

The Lady Rams return to action on October 28, 29, and 30, 2005 as they resume CIAA Western Division bowling action.
