Salisbury, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams Bowling team rolled their way to a 9-6 record on Sunday morning in the Baker Match portion of the CIAA Western Division Bowling challenge at Woodleaf Lanes in Salisbury, NC to close out the 2004 CIAA bowling regular-season.
The Lady Rams opened the morning with a 2-1 match defeat over the Ladu Blue Bears of Livingstone College as WSSU won the first game 157-96 and won the second game 155-109 before dropping the third game of three 148-177.
Fayetteville State would then get the better of WSSU in the second match of the morning as the Lady Broncos handed WSSU two consecutive losses 128-189 and 158-152 before WSSU was awoken and earned a 142-120 win in game three.
Following the pair of losses to the Lady Broncos, WSSU posted three straight 2-1 match victories over St. Augustine's College (135-137, 145-124, 161-128), Johnson C. Smith (142-102, 135-143, 166-136) and North Carolina Central (132-135, 148-140, 159-147) to close out the day and the weekend's competition.
WSSU will return to action on November 7th, 2004 in Durham, NC as will compete in the 2004 CIAA Women's Bowling Championship.
