With the losses, the Lady Rams would find themselves in a four-way tie for the fifth seed with Saint Paul's College, North Carolina Central, and Fayetteville State. By virtue of pinfall, the Lady Rams earned the #6 seed and a date with the Lady Bulldogs of Bowie State in the Baker Match portion of the tournament.
The Lady Rams fell in four games to the Lady Bulldogs by the scores of 202-144, 171-145, and 171-169. The lone WSSU win came in the second game of the match by the score of 186-158.
With the match loss, the Lady Rams found themselves facing elimination with the daunting task of squaring off versus the Lady Broncos of Fayetteville State University, a team WSSU had not beaten in six previous meetings during the 2005-06 season.
The Lady Broncos easily stretched that consecutive victory streak to seven as they handed the Lady Rams a 3-1 loss, eliminating them from CIAA title contention.
For the second straight Baker Match, the Lady Rams would win only the second game as they fell by the scores of 148-149, 151-123, 149-159, and 141-153.
