Lady Rams Bowling Posts A Winless 0-5 Record On Saturday At FAMU Invitational

Nov. 11, 2006

TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams bowling team finished the first day of competition from the Florida A&M University Invitational a winless 0-5 as they dropped all five of their opening-day head-to-head matches in Tallahassee, FL on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Rams opened the day with a 704-538 loss to South Carolina State University before falling to Bethune-Cookman by the score of 681-556 in the day's second match.

WSSU would go on to drop their next three matches as they fell to North Carolina A&T (832-554), Florida A&M (751-649), and Norfolk State (769-509) to finish the afternoon a winless 0-5.

"No one bowled particularly well on the day, but we did improve as we went along over the course of the afternoon.  I am sure that we will bounce back tomorrow.  I know we are a talented team and I have faith in this group of young ladies" head coach Tyrone Scales said via phone on Saturday.

WSSU returns to action on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM (EST) as they begin the Baker Match portion of the event.
