Houston, TX - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams will enter into the double-elimination round of the 2004 NCAA Women's Bowling National Championship tournament as the number eight seed and will face off against the Jennies of Central Missouri State University when play resumes at 3:30 pm Eastern Standard Time at Emerald Bowl in Houston, TX.
The Lady Rams, who earned a total pinfall of 8867 throughout the qualifying rounds and have earned a cumulative season record of 59-17 will face the Jennies, who are the defending Intercollegiate Bowling Congress Champions. The Jennies earned a total pinfall of 11965 and have amassed a record of 77-25 on the year.
The two teams will square off in a best-of-seven Baker Match with each team looking to win four matches to move on to the next round. The format will place five bowlers on each team bowling two frames each to give a combined one-game score to each team. The higher score will be awarded the win of the match, with each team looking for four wins to advance.
The Lady Rams have never faced the Lady Jennies before Championship play began yesterday and posted an 0-2 record versus CMSU in the qualifying rounds.
