Winston-Salem, NC - Graduate Student and anchor bowler Latoya DesChamps (Graduate Student/Durham, NC) was named the Winston-Salem State University Bowling MVP on Wednesday April 28th, 2004 at the 2004 WSSU Athletic Awards Banquet that was held at the McNeil Ballroom of the Anderson Center.
Deschamps, a 2002 and 2003 All-CIAA bowling team selection helped to lead the Lady Rams to a 59-17 record overall this past season as she guided the Lady Rams to a berth in the first-ever NCAA Women's Bowling National Championship.
Deschamps led the Lady Rams as she ranked first in the CIAA in bowling average with 182.9 pins per game. She turned in a pinfall of 1169 at the 2004 NCAA Bowling Championships in Houston, TX and averaged a 167 for the tournament.
For her efforts, she was named the WSSU Bowling MVP and was recognized at WSSU's Annual Athletic Awards Banquet.
