WSSU's LaToya Deschamps Named DII/DIII Bowling All-American

Indianapolis, IN - Winston-Salem State University women's bowler Latoya DesChamps (Durham, NC/Riverside H.S.) has been honored by the National Tenpin Coached Association as a Division II/III Women's Bowling Second-Team All American for her performance over the 2003-04 bowling season.

DesChamps, a graduate student and women's bowler on the WSSU women's bowling team helped to lead the Lady Rams to a 59-10 regular-season record and a CIAA Western Division regular-season bowling title.

As well, she helped the Lady Rams receive one of only eight nation-wide bids to the inaugural edition of the 2004 NCAA Women's Bowling National Championship tournament in Houston, TX this past April where she turned in an average of 167 over the five day event.

DesChamps, the best bowler in the CIAA, led the conference in bowling average with a 182.9 and was named to the All-CIAA First-Team. She was also selected as the WSSU Women's Bowling Most Valuable Player.
