Lady Rams Battle Hard, But Fall to Indiana (Pa.) at 2012 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament
KUTZTOWN, PA – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (32-19) gave it their all, but the team could not get past the Indiana (Pa.) Fighting Hawks (30-13-1) in the elimination round of the 2012 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament. The loss ended the season for the Lady Rams, but could not overshadow a great season by the Lady Rams.

Eighth-Seeded Lady Rams to Face Top-Seeded Host Kutztown to Open 2012 NCAA Atlantic Regional Tournament
KUTZTOWN, PA – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (32-17) will make their return to the post-season this weekend when they take on the top-seeded Kutztown (Pa.) Lady Bears (45-4), Saturday at North Campus Field in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. After earning the bid by virtue of their second straight Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Championship, the Lady Rams will make their second straight trip to the NCAA post-season against the top team in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region.

KUTZTOWN, PA – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (32-18) gave it their all, but the team came up just a bit short in a 1-0 loss to the #3 Kutztown Bears (46-4) in the opening round of the 2012 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament, Friday afternoon. The loss came at the slimmest of possible margins as both teams played some stellar defense in the hard-fought game.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (32-17) turned up their defensive efforts to hold on for a 5-3 win over the Surry Community College Knights (18-23), Saturday afternoon. After taking an early lead, the Lady Rams fended off a late rally by the Knights to seal the victory.

ETTRICK, Va. – Just give her the ball, and Brittany Lane will do the rest. After shouldering a staggering workload on Friday, Winston-Salem State ace Brittany Lane fired a two-hit shutout to force a decisive game in the championship round before coming back with a three-inning save in Game 2 to lift the Lady Rams to their second straight CIAA Softball Championship on Saturday.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – It took a while for the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (24-16, 15-1 CIAA) to wake up, but they did in a big way with a 10-0 win over the Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls (16-25, 6-10 CIAA), Sunday morning. The Lady Rams scored all 10 runs of the game in the fourth inning after heading into the inning with just one hit and no runs scored.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (23-16, 14-1 CIAA) recorded their fourth straight shutout win, Saturday afternoon when the team took an 11-0 win over the Saint Augustine’s Lady Falcons (12-21, 8-8 CIAA). The Lady Rams took the win behind some great play both offensively and defensively.

WSSU took the win behind a stellar pitching performance by Lady Rams junior pitcher Brittany Lane, who threw a perfect game in the victory.

The Lady Rams took the win behind a dominating defensive performance that saw the team hold the Lady Bears to just one hit in the game.

The Lady Rams scored took advantage of seven errors by the Lady Broncos to score seven unearned runs in the victory.

In a game that featured a spectacular pitching performance by both teams, the Lady Rams scored a pair of unearned run in the first inning to take the victory.

RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams picked up another Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) victory, Saturday morning when the team took a 4-2 win over the Virginia Union Lady Panthers on the second day of the 2012 CIAA Round-Up. Junior catcher Nikki Lynch hit a walk-off RBI double to seal the win.

RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (8-9, 1-0 CIAA) opened conference play in a big way with a clutch 5-3 win over the Chowan Lady Hawks (5-14, 0-1 CIAA), Friday afternoon at the 2012 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up at Walnut Creek Park in Raleigh, N.C. With the win, the Lady Rams picked up their first conference win of the season and defeated the Lady Hawks, who won the conference regular season title last year.
