Lady Rams Dominate Livingstone for 17-0 Win

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (15-15, 6-1 CIAA, 1-0 CIAA South) took control early and never looked back in a 17-0 win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (4-13, 2-11 CIAA), Friday afternoon. The Lady Rams broke out for 13 hits while allowing just one hit to the Lady Blue Bears.

The Lady Rams took the win behind a great effort on both sides of the ball with junior pitcher Brittany Lane (4-3) picking up the win. She recorded 10 strikeouts en route to the shut out win while allowing just one hit to the Blue Bears.

Offensively, the Lady Rams had another great effort with 13 total hits in the game. WSSU junior third baseman Brittney Cato led the way for the Lady Rams with a four-for-four effort at the plate with two runs scored and four RBI. She was one of four WSSU players with multiple hits in the game. Freshman shortstop Brittany Rich also added a pair of hits with three runs scored and a triple.
