Lee Throws One-Hit Shut Out Win Over Shaw

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (21-16, 12-1 CIAA) completed a two-game sweep of the Shaw Lady Bears (10-29, 4-8 CIAA) with an 8-0 shutout victory at South Park Field in Winston-Salem, N.C., Thursday evening. The Lady Rams took the win behind a dominating defensive performance that saw the team hold the Lady Bears to just one hit in the game.

It was WSSU sophomore pitcher Yasmin Lee (10-9) who led the way for the Lady Rams as she allowed just one hit to the Lady Bears. For the game, she recorded four strikeouts and allowed just two walks in the game. WSSU junior infielder Nikki Lynch led the offensive effort for the Lady Rams with a two-for-two effort at the plate with three RBI in the game.
