Orangeburg, SC - The first game of the 2005 season did not go well for the Winston-Salem State University Softball team as they dropped a 22-0 decision to Savannah College of Art and Design on Friday afternoon in the first game of the 2005 Claflin College Softball Invitational.
Despite giving up 22 runs, the Lady Rams would surrender only six earned runs on the afternoon as a plethora of walks and errors would force 16 Savannah College of Art and Design batters across home plate.
SaRhonda Hawkins was saddled with the loss as she would last only one and two-thirds innings before being replaced by Shannon Davis.
With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 0-1 on the season and will return to action at 3:00 pm to face Armstrong Atlantic State University in another non-conference softball match-up.
