Final Stats

Orangeburg, SC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams waited more than three hours to take the field versus Benedict College on Saturday afternoon due to inclement weather, however, when the rains subsided and play resumed, Benedict College defeated WSSU 16-10 to drop the Lady Rams to 0-3 overall (0-0 CIAA) on the season.

WSSU, who saw play delayed several hours, took the field and hit well en route to 10 runs.  However, the 10 runs would prove to be just short of the 16 runs earned by Benedict as the Lady Rams fell in defeat. 

The Lady Rams, who were to take to the field to face host-team Claflin in the final game of the day saw the contest cancelled due to rain and darkness.  The game will not be rescheduled.

WSSU will return to action on February 17, 2006 at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm versus the Pirates of Hampton University in a non-conference softball doubleheader at Civitan Park in Winston-Salem, NC.
