WSSU Softball Remains Winless At O-4 After 16-8 Defeat Versus Benedict

Feb. 7, 2005

Final Stats

Orangeburg, SC - The Lady Rams' softball team remains winless in 2005 after wrapping up the fourth and final game of the 2005 Claflin College Softball Tournament on Saturday with their fourth straight loss. Although WSSU put eight runs on the scoreboard, it was not enough as Benedict College handed the Lady Rams a 16-8 defeat.

Trying to get their first win of the season the Lady Rams put together a valiant effort as they were able to score eight runs and blast 14 hits. However, defense would once again prove elusive as errors and poor fielding would ultimately hand WSSU another loss.

SaRhonda Hawkins earned her fourth loss of the season as she would surrender 16 total runs, despite pitching a complete game.

With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 0-4 on the season and will return to action at 2:00 PM on February 19th, 2005 as they face their neighbor, Salem College in a scrimmage softball match-up.
