Final Stats

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Winston-Salem State University dropped the second game of a non-conference softball doubleheader to Hampton University by the score of 5-2 as the Lady Pirates swept both games of the doubleheader from Southpark Field in Winston-Salem, NC on Friday afternoon.

The Lady Pirates started the game off well with first-inning home run that game them the early lead. 

However, WSSU took a 2-1 lead in the second inning before three third inning errors allowed the Lady Pirates to retake the advantage at 3-2.

Hampton tacked on two more late-game runs en route to the win, their second of the season.

With the loss the Lady Rams fall to 0-5 on the season (0-0 CIAA) while Hampton improves to 2-0 (0-0 MEAC) with the win.

The Lady Rams will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they play host to the Lady Bears of Morgan State University at Southpark Field in a non-conference doubleheader with games slated for 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
