Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams fell in defeat to Lock Haven University in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Southpark Field as the Lady Rams surrendered 14 hits and 15 runs en route to a 15-0 loss to drop to 0-5 on the season.
The Lady Rams tallied only two hits in the contest and would be blanked on the afternoon as they watched Lock Haven record three runs in the first inning, five runs in the second inning, three runs in the third inning and four runs in the fifth inning en route to easily handing WSSU a 15-0 loss.
Toyia Vaughn and Louise Ellis were the only two Lady Rams to record hits in the game as they recorded one each. The Lady Eagles were led by four players who had at least two hits in the contest.
WSSU's SaRhonda Hawkins was saddled with the loss in the game as she falls to 0-5 on the season. Earning the win for Lock Haven was Shauna Guevera who earned her third win of the season.
WSSU falls to 0-5 on the season with the loss while Lock Haven improves to 3-0 in 2005.
The two teams will return to action later in the afternoon for the second game of the doubleheader.
