GREENSBORO, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (2-10) took an 11-1 loss to their rival North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies (6-7), Saturday afternoon. The Lady Rams fell victim to some big offense by the home Lady Aggies, who won their second five-inning game in the last two days.
WSSU sophomore catcher Elyon Taylor was the only Lady Ram to score in the contest, crossing the plate in the fifth inning to break up the shutout. She was one of four WSSU players to notch a hit in the game. Sophomore pitcher Amber Shore (2-6) picked up the loss, her third straight, going two and one-third innings while allowing eight earned runs. Freshman pitcher Ashley Boswell threw one and two-thirds innings of relief giving up just one earned run on three hits.
The Lady Rams will spend next week in Florida as they will face the defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champion Florida A&M Lady Rattlers on Tuesday, followed by a Wednesday double-header with the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats.
