Final Stats
WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' softball team earned their first win of the season on Sunday afternoon at Southpark Field as they defeated Claflin University 7-3 in the first game of a non-conference softball doubleheader.
The Lady Rams belted 11 hits and scored three runs as they were the beneficiaries of six Claflin University errors en route to the easy victory.
WSSU's Amber Shore earned her first win of the season as she pitched a complete-game seven-hitter giving up only three earned runs as she improved to 1-3 overall with the victory.
WSSU was led by four hitters who recorded two or more hits in the contest as Tisha Bell, Tyreka Cotton and Domica Scott each scored twice in the victory.
The Lady Rams return to action at 2:00 pm when they will face Claflin in the second game of the twin bill.
