Final Stats

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams' softball team needed only five innings to blow by Claflin University on Sunday afternoon at Southpark Field as they defeated CU 11-3 in the second, and final, game of a non-conference softball doubleheader.

WSSU hammered out 12 hits and scored 11 runs as they earned their second consecutive win, and second win overall this season.

The Lady Rams' Elyon Taylor recorded her first win of the 2006 season as she pitched five innings, allowing only five hits and a trio of earned runs as she struck out one and walked only three.

Tisha Bell led the Lady Rams with three hits, two runs scored, and four runs batted in as she helped WSSU earn their second straight win of the day.

With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 2-5 overall on the season.  WSSU will return to action on March 7, 2006 as they face Tampa at 12:00 pm and Mount Olive College at 2:00 pm in first round action of the Savannah State Smash Hit Tournament in Savannah, GA.
