TALLAHASSEE, FL - Though the Lady Rams (3-11) controlled much of the game, it only took one big inning by the Florida A&M Lady Rattlers to take the game away from WSSU. The Lady Rams kept the game close, but were unalble to recover from a six-run third inning by the Lady Rattlers.
The Lady Rams struck first when Devin Gillette scored on a FAMU throwing error that gave the team a 1-0 lead to open the game. However, the WSSU offense would end right there as the team was held scoreless for the remainder of the game. With the Lady Rams offense in check, Florida A&M would go on the offensive in the third inning.
The WSSU defense would keep the game in reach holding FAMU to just three runs in the second inning. However, the Lady Rams fell into some strong Lady Rattler batting in the third inning as the home team scored six runs in the third inning and taking a 9-1 lead in the game. Neither team crossed the plate again for the rest of the game and the WSSU rally attempts failed.
