Lady Huskies Hand Lady Rams 12-0 Defeat In Game One

March 8, 2005

Final Stats

Winston-Salem, NC - The Lady Rams fell in defeat to the Bloomsburg University (PA) Lady Huskies by the score of 12-0 in non-conference softball action on Monday morning at Civitan Park in Winston-Salem, NC in the first game of a doubleheader as a third-inning grand slam by Bloomsburg third-baseman Laurel Koster propelled the Huskies to an easy win.

Leading 1-0, the Huskies loaded the bases for Koster who hammered a Shannon Davis pitch 250-feet to straight-away center field for a home run to give Bloomsburg a 5-0 lead which they would never relinquish.

WSSU would get only one hit on the day as L'Tisha Bell opened the contest with a single as she is the only Lady Ram that would earn a hit as WSSU had only two base-runners in the game.

Ashley Lynn pitched five solid innings for the Huskies, giving up a lone hit to Bell and walking one batter. She recorded nine strikeouts and faced only 17 total batters.

Shannon Davis was saddled with the loss for the Lady Rams, dropping her to 0-2 on the season.

The two teams will return to action at 1:00 PM for the second game of the twin-bill.
