SAVANNAH, GA - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams dropped a 5-1 decision to the University of Tampa on Tuesday afternoon in first-round, non-conference softball action from the Smash Hit Tournament in Savannah, GA.
The Lady Rams fell behind early in the contest and were never able to recover as the University of Tampa tagged the Lady Rams' Amber Shore for five runs, only three of them earned, as they downed WSSU.
With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 2-6 overall as Amber Shore falls to 1-4 on the season.
WSSU returns to action versus Mount Olive College at 2:00 pm in second-round action from the Smash Hit Tournament.
