WSSU Softball Wins Third Straight Game; Lady Rams Hammer SPC 17-1

March 13, 2006

Final Stats

LAWRENCEVILLE, VA - It took the Lady Rams only five innings to score 17 runs while allowing only one as Winston-Salem State University dismantled the Lady Tigers of Saint Paul's College by the score of 17-1 as the Lady Rams earned their third consecutive win to move to 3-0 in the CIAA.

The Lady Rams, fresh off of a pair of softball wins over Elizabeth City State University the day before, showed that they are a road-tested team as the visitors, who have not played a home-game in since March 5th, hammered 17 runs to cruise to the CIAA league victory.

Starting pitcher Amber Shore recorded her fourth win of the season to move to 4-7 overall on the season as she remains perfect at 2-0 in the CIAA.

With the win, the Lady Rams move to 5-9 overall and improve to 3-0 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

WSSU returns to action at 3:00 pm when they face the Lady Tigers in the second game of the twin bill.
